StratMan4Regions - The solution to a strategic locational management

In a world of increasing competition and shorter product life cycles, good regional policies and the non financial dimensions gain in importance. The difference between regions will increase and only those who can develop and attract specific skills combined with an attractive social environment will prosper. For this reasons the Erlangen AG as Lead Partner, together with a high qualified consortium, has developed the project StratMan4Regions. This project will deliver guidance to what could good regional policy look like and what can regions learn from one another. The aim of the project is to develop a structure for a regional strategic management system, which enables regions not just to react explicitly on the risks of globalization but to act proactively. The StratMan4Regions-System finds answers to global trends and helps the regions with the structure of regional brandings.

StratMan4Regions has been submitted to the Interreg IVC Managing Authority on the 14th of January 2008 and will now be evaluated. It is a three year project with a budget of 1.866.145 €. We have managed to attract a high class consortium to this project. The members of the consortium are the Oresund University/Oresund Science Region (Danmark), the University of Crete – Atlantis Group (Greece), the Catholic University of Eichstätt (Germany), the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia (Spain), the Mykolo Romerio Universitetas (Lithuania), the City of Trnava (Slovakia) and the Abteilung für Innovation, Forschung und Entwicklung der Autonomen Provinz Bozen (Italy). Project start is planned for the beginning of 2009.
